Since 1979 I have professionally been involved with nutrition and health and the one tenet of healing that I have come to  respect the most is this:   Disease is primarily caused by the weakening of our system or secondly by the excess toxins that we have accumulated in the body.  The key to healing almost all health issues is adding

nutritional building blocks  that  allow new healthy cells to be formed which are free of disease.  Secondly by  lowering the toxic compounds within us so the body has the vitality to repair itself.    I admit that this is not the mainstream belief system which focuses  on the use of synthetic compounds and ignores your body’s ancient wisdom for its own self-healing.

However, the importance of this letter concerns something I discovered last year called Cannibinoid. When I first heard the word “Cannibinoid” (abbreviated CBD) it planted a seed in me that inspired a devoted intense search on the subject.

The way I first learned of CBD was by sponsoring a lecture on sports nutrition with Carl Germano from New York in April of 2014. Mr. Germano is a registered dietician and is a highly respected expert in the field of health and nutrition. As I spent the day with him, he brought up that he was more impressed with the healing and health benefits of “Cannibinoid” than almost any other natural product he had ever researched in his life. (that is saying a tremendous amount for this man) I must say that I knew nothing of this funny sounding substance at that time. I learned soon that Cannibinoid is derived from the hemp plant and is one constituent of the family of molecules that hemp contains.

My passion in the nutrition field for the past 36 years has encouraged me to become fully immersed in the study of specific topics on natural health as I have done on CBD. Last January I traveled to Colorado to investigate CBD products and also found many experts that taught the value of this amazing plant in the past year. I have first hand observed results that are nothing short of miraculous in myself and others. My personal study on CBD allows me to state the following:

Nothing I have ever investigated on natural medicine will probably ever outperform the almost miraculous healing properties that I have witnessed with Cannibinoids. CBD may truly be a natural elixir from the heavens.

The leading website I respect for education on CBD, ProjectCBD.org states the following:

Cannabidiol — CBD— is a hemp compound that has significant medical benefits, but does not make people feel “stoned”.   The fact that CBD-rich oil doesn’t get one high makes it an appealing option for patients seeking anti-inflammatory, anti-pain, anti-anxiety, immune stimulating, anti-psychotic, and/or anti-spasm effects without troubling lethargy or dysphoria.

CBD has demonstrated neuroprotective and neurogenic effects, and its properties are currently being investigated at several academic research centers in the United States and elsewhere in preventing some of our most feared diseases.

On May 5, 2015 Governor Bill Haslam gave final approval for medicinal use of hemp oil in Tennessee. I am however unclear how this will filter down to the practical level of the consumer but it is obviously positive news for the future of CBD.

I am also not totally clear as to the availability of quality CBD and how Nutrition World will be a part of this unstoppable movement but I can assure you I will be on the forefront every step of the way. I know that ordering CBD off the internet at this time is a gamble due to inconsistent quality and many brands containing pesticides and chemicals so I do not recommend this. Nutrition World will always remain the gatekeeper and source of honest information for holistic health so stay connected for updates as they become available.

What is so disturbing to me is that since the 1930ʼs hemp compounds have been aggressively attacked and misaligned. To consider how many health problems could have been  addressed if wisdom and objectivity ruled is enough to make the angels weep.
