Hemp protein powder is a gluten free, complete and high quality globular (necessary for digestion and building our immune system) protein comprised of edestin (65%) and albumin (35%… similar to egg whites). As hemp seed is an achene and has no enzyme inhibitors like those found in grains, nuts or legumes (and which may cause indigestion and gas), our hemp protein powder is very easy to digest.
Our protein powder is made by taking what’s left over (we call it “cake” at approx 33% protein) after we press the hemp seeds for oil, cold milling it, and carefully screening away most of the shells. We are left with a protein powder super food that is 50% protein: nearly twice as much as meat.
It is certified organic or responsibly grown which means we don’t spray chemicals pesticides or herbicides directly on our crops. Thus, it is SAFE certified.
